Day 7- The Earth is Yours

Shelter - Tuesday

Day 6- In the shelter of each other we will live

Yesterday ministry week continued with its second day as the teams spent more time building relationships with the people at their ministries and in the community. We spent time with The Meeting Paces second team at the Multicultural Family Centre as they hung out with kids and also put together and distributed 80 hampers for different families later in the afternoon. Also, below is pictures from the Christian Family Centre with Steinbach MB as they laughed and played together with a group of smiley and energetic kids from the Centre. Finally, despite the cold weather yesterday we followed the Seeds team working with Acceuil Francophone as they went fishing. I was encouraged by the positive attitudes and excitement that came from this team although it was incredibly cold- I did not hear one complaint, solely joy and laughter amongst the team as they enjoyed spending time with one another.
Thank you for your continued prayers and support a

I Can See Your Love - Monday

Ask and Peace

As we enter day 6 of SOAR and day 2 of ministry the words ASK and PEACE have been rolling around in my head and the heads of the other members of the SOAR 2012 prayer team.

James 1:5 says, "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you."
2 Chronicles 7:14-15 says, "...if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place."
As we as a team prayed at Bethlehem Aboriginal Fellowship yesterday we prayed and asked that God would allow the little children of the North End to come to him not only this week through each SOAR VBS program, but in the weeks and years to come. So join us in asking, and trusting that God will answer!

The word Peace seems to be more for our participants and teams as they continue to walk out this week personally and as they minister as a team. Join us as we pray the words of John 14:27, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." (NIV) "
"I'm telling you these things while I'm still living with you. The Friend, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send at my request, will make everything plain to you. He will remind you of all the things I have told you. I'm leaving you well and whole. That's my parting gift to you. Peace. I don't leave you the way you're used to being left—feeling abandoned, bereft. So don't be upset. Don't be distraught." (The Message)

Thank you for partnering with the SOAR Community in this way!

Day 5- I Can See Your Love

Today was the start to the teams being immersed into their ministry locations for the week. Their are 20 different organizations and ministries that the 23 teams with be engaging in until Friday. As a media team we will be hopping around throughout the different locations throughout the week to capture the varying teams and ministries. Today we got to spend time with MCI- Flora House, Eastview 1 at Keenleyside, MBCI at Vineyard and Houseblend and Westwood at IRCOM. MBCI will be insulating a basement suit with Houseblend tomorrow, and spent the day cleaning up the yard to prepare for their task tomorrow! Keenleyside, MCI, and Eastview spent the day playing with Kids whether that be in the park, doing crafts, or playing games. We already saw relationships being formed today in the first moments the teams spent with these kids. God's love was poured out all over these playgrounds and facilities today!

Days 3&4- This is where the healing begins..this is NOT the end.

This weekend at Soar- Heartland, the participants continued to prepare for ministry week. Saturday the students spent the morning in spiritual formation workshops, followed by 2 hour solos. Some of the workshops included: drawing your prayers, journaling, dance and intercessory prayer.
"Having alone time with God was great because you get that fellowship, that one on one with him to experience his all and all. Solo time allows personal relationship; just you and him with no distractions, just you him and the Bible," says Paul Reimer from MCI Flora House.
In the afternoon the teams got to experience their first taste of the ministry teams they will be working with from Monday-Friday in ministry workshops. Anticipation and excitement for the ways God will be working through these teams, and the ways they will see God working in their specific ministries followed into the evening and into Sunday.
Sunday the teams spent the day with their teams around the city and were assigned different churches to attend at some point during the day. Blumenort, led worship at Bethlehem followed by testimony sharing and a message from one of the students on the team. Other teams, experienced church, culture, worship and fellowship in different ways throughout the day. Sunday evening all the Soar participants gathered together as a big group for a session to prepare them on going out to LOVE as ministry week begins. Teams then gathered separately at their sleeping locations for foot washing, encouragement and prayer to end off the day. Each team saw God work in profound ways through foot washing as they served and prayed for one another.
