This weekend at Soar- Heartland, the participants continued to prepare for ministry week. Saturday the students spent the morning in spiritual formation workshops, followed by 2 hour solos. Some of the workshops included: drawing your prayers, journaling, dance and intercessory prayer.
"Having alone time with God was great because you get that fellowship, that one on one with him to experience his all and all. Solo time allows personal relationship; just you and him with no distractions, just you him and the Bible," says Paul Reimer from MCI Flora House.
In the afternoon the teams got to experience their first taste of the ministry teams they will be working with from Monday-Friday in ministry workshops. Anticipation and excitement for the ways God will be working through these teams, and the ways they will see God working in their specific ministries followed into the evening and into Sunday.
Sunday the teams spent the day with their teams around the city and were assigned different churches to attend at some point during the day. Blumenort, led worship at Bethlehem followed by testimony sharing and a message from one of the students on the team. Other teams, experienced church, culture, worship and fellowship in different ways throughout the day. Sunday evening all the Soar participants gathered together as a big group for a session to prepare them on going out to LOVE as ministry week begins. Teams then gathered separately at their sleeping locations for foot washing, encouragement and prayer to end off the day. Each team saw God work in profound ways through foot washing as they served and prayed for one another.
